BEST RESTAURANTS IN SHARJAH · CHECKED 20 SEPTEMBER 2026

The best restaurants in Sharjah, an emirate that eats well without a drinks list

Eleven restaurants across three neighbourhoods, from a heritage-quarter Japanese-Korean room to the Lebanese waterfront institution. Every one dry, every one checked, with the map pin and the dish to order.

Sharjah is the only emirate where no restaurant, hotel or bar sells alcohol, and it changes the dining scene in a way visitors from Dubai notice within an hour: the rooms are quieter, the bills are lower, and the food has to carry the evening. It does. The MICHELIN Guide does not cover Sharjah, but Gault&Millau added the emirate to its UAE guide in 2026, and the places below are the ones that keep appearing when the city’s own magazines and the tourism board describe where residents go.

The list is short on purpose. Sharjah has three dining neighbourhoods worth crossing the city for: the restored Heart of Sharjah around the Chedi Al Bait, the Al Qasba and Al Majaz waterfront, and the new Aljada district in Muwaileh where the Dubai restaurant groups have arrived. Eleven restaurants across those three. Price bands are our own estimate from menus where nobody publishes a guide tier; the card says so.

One we left out: Zahr El Laymoun on the Al Majaz waterfront, which we could not confirm as trading in 2026. It is a popular Lebanese room and may be fine; it is not on the list until someone answers the phone.

How to read this list

  • No restaurant in Sharjah is licensed. There is no need to check.
  • Price bands are our estimates from menus; no guide publishes tiers for Sharjah.
  • Status was checked on 20 September 2026 against the tourism board's listings and each venue's site.
  • Photographs are stock images of the cuisine, credited underneath.
  • Map links open Google Maps at the verified pin or, where none exists, a name search.

Heart of Sharjah

The restored heritage quarter on the creek. Nomani inside the Chedi Al Bait is the emirate’s most ambitious kitchen, Japanese-Korean in a coral-stone courtyard. Ratios and Fen are the two cafés the art crowd runs on, and Al Arsaha is the old public coffee shop that predates all of them.

The canal and the lagoon. Shababeek is the Lebanese room every Sharjah resident sends a visitor to. Thai Gate on Al Heera Beach is the seafood-and-curry choice. Al Fanar’s Emirati menu is here with a caveat on its card about which branch is open.

Aljada

Arada’s new district in Muwaileh is where the Dubai groups landed: Berenjak’s Persian grill, Entrecôte Café de Paris, Kashtat Amina for Emirati home cooking, Murmur for the evening. Newer, louder, and the easiest parking in the emirate.

What we could not confirm

  • Zahr El Laymoun's 2026 status; omitted.
  • Which Al Fanar branch is open; its card is amber.
  • Hours for most entries come from the city magazine Fact's May 2026 listings rather than the venues; treat them as a guide.
  • Gault&Millau's 2026 scores for Sharjah restaurants: only 'selected' status could be evidenced, no toques.

Everything else was checked on 20 September 2026.

Questions readers ask

Do restaurants in Sharjah serve alcohol?

No. Sharjah is the only emirate where alcohol is not sold anywhere, including hotels. Every restaurant on this list is dry.

Are there Michelin restaurants in Sharjah?

No. The MICHELIN Guide covers Dubai and Abu Dhabi only. Gault&Millau added Sharjah to its UAE guide in 2026.

What is the best restaurant in Sharjah?

For a landmark evening, Shababeek at Al Qasba. For ambition, Nomani at the Chedi Al Bait. For Emirati food, Kashtat Amina at Aljada.

Where do people eat in Sharjah?

Three districts: the Heart of Sharjah heritage quarter, the Al Qasba and Al Majaz waterfront, and Aljada in Muwaileh. This list is organised by those three.
