Forty-five venues that other guides still recommend. The hotel behind the scaffolding, the seven Atlantis restaurants paused since April, the museum that shut this month, the parks that reopen in October, and the five that have quietly moved. Every row dated and sourced.
This page exists because of a pattern we kept hitting while building the rest of this site. Roughly one in six of the venues that Dubai’s best-known guides currently recommend is not open. The Burj Al Arab, with everything inside it, closed in April 2026 for eighteen months. Seven Atlantis restaurants were paused on 20 April and most have no reopening date. The Museum of the Future, the single most-photographed building in the city and the first entry on almost every list, closed this month. None of those pages has been updated.
So this is the cross-section: every closure, pause, seasonal shutdown, relocation and disputed status we found while researching 40 restaurants, 55 hotels, 30 attractions and 25 bars. It is sorted by what it means for your trip rather than by category, because ‘closed until 2027’ and ‘reopens in a fortnight’ are different problems.
Two honest notes. Where a venue’s own site and the press disagree, we say so rather than picking a side; those five sit in their own table near the bottom. And where something has reopened and the internet has not noticed, that is here too, because a guide telling you the Fountain is still drained is as useless as one telling you the museum is open.
The eleven that matter most, because they are the ones a trip gets planned around. If a guide you are reading recommends the Burj Al Arab’s afternoon tea or the Museum of the Future, it was written before April, whatever date it carries.

Atlantis paused seven venues on 20 April 2026 in one announcement, including two Michelin-starred restaurants, and has published no timeline for most of them. The group’s line is that timelines ‘will be reviewed in due course’. Hakkasan is the only one with a date, and it is in the next table. FZN, Nobu, Estiatorio Milos, Carbone and Bread Street Kitchen all kept trading.
| Venue | Type | What it is | Any date? |

Dubai’s outdoor season starts in October, which is why four of the city’s biggest family attractions are shut in September and will be open within a month. If your trip is in November, none of these is a problem; if it is next week, four of them are.

The mirror image of the problem. These five are open and are still being written about as closed, or were closed so recently that half the results you will find predate the reopening.

Dubai’s outdoor venues run a season rather than a year, and an open-or-shut label cannot express that. These close in the heat and come back when it breaks, which is why a guide checked in January can be wrong in July without anybody editing it.
| Venue | Type | What it is | The season |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ninive | Restaurant | The original Jumeirah majlis-style room | Closed for the summer; returns 1 October 2026. Its J1 Beach outpost stayed open |
| Saffron, Atlantis The Palm | Restaurant | The resort's brunch room | Atlantis dates the current brunch format to 17 October 2026, and it is 21 and over |
| Drift Beach Dubai | Beach club | One&Only Royal Mirage | Took a summer pause and came back on 19 August 2026 |
| Global Village, Miracle Garden, Dubai Safari Park, Hatta Wadi Hub | Attractions | The four big outdoor seasons | All closed through the summer; back between 28 September and mid-October |
| Several beach clubs and rooftops | Bars | Across the Palm and the Jumeirah coast | Dubai's outdoor venues run a season, not a year. Between May and September, ring before you travel across the city |
Five venues where the operator’s own page and the press contradict each other, or where the only sources are directories. We publish the disagreement rather than resolve it by guessing, and we tell you who to phone.
| Venue | Type | The disagreement | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wild Wadi Waterpark | Attraction | The park's own site showed daily 10:00 to 18:00 and day passes from AED 199 on 24 September 2026. Press in May 2026 reported it closed since 25 March as a precaution, with no date, and no reopening story has been published since. | Call 800 AMAZING before you drive there. |
| Tasca by José Avillez | Restaurant | Search indexing suggests a refurbishment closure at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira. No dated report exists and the hotel's own page carries no notice. | Call the hotel. |
| La Dame de Pic Dubai | Restaurant | One Michelin star at One&Only One Za'abeel. Time Out lists it as temporarily closed; the chef's own site shows normal hours; the hotel could not be reached through any channel we tried. | Call the hotel. |
| XLine Dubai Marina | Attraction | Bookings ran to 31 May 2026 with a summer update promised. The operator lists daily slots 'subject to season'. | Check the operator before travelling. |
| Asado | Restaurant | The Argentine grill at Palace Downtown appears on four booking directories and not on Emaar's own dining page; one source says it has shut. | Phone the hotel before booking a room for it. |
The quietest way for a guide to be wrong. All five of these are trading; none is where the listicles say.
