Six open hotels in the smallest emirate, forty minutes from Dubai airport and a third of the price. Which is licensed, which has the beach, and what happened to the Oberoi.

Ajman is the emirate people book by accident, from a price comparison, and then come back to on purpose. Its Corniche has four full-size beach resorts in a row, each with a private beach, and rack rates that Dubai’s Palm stopped offering a decade ago. The Fairmont and Ajman Saray are the two with the most on site; Bahi Ajman Palace is the one without a bar, by choice; the former Kempinski, now Ajman Hotel by Blazon, is the older building with the marina.
The interesting thing is happening at Al Zorah, the mangrove development at the emirate’s northern edge. The Oberoi Beach Resort there had the best reviews in the northern Emirates until Oberoi’s management ended on 28 February 2025. It is being rebuilt as Four Seasons Resort Ajman at Al Zorah, with 74 rooms and 23 villas announced for 2026. When we checked on 20 September, the Four Seasons site returned nothing for Ajman and the tourism board’s accommodation list did not include it. Not open. Zoya, the adults-only wellness resort next to the golf club, is.
