Why we do not use
hotel press photography.
Hotel and resort photography is copyrighted by the operator or the photographer they commissioned. Attribution does not transfer a licence, and a great many travel sites publish that imagery anyway. We do not, for two reasons: it is infringement, and it also means every hotel on the internet looks identical, photographed by the same agencies under the same brief.
What you see instead are photographs published under Creative Commons licences or in the public domain, sourced from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash, together with a small number of images licensed directly. Each one names its photographer, its licence and its original file page, and each is used unmodified — where an image appears cropped, that crop is done in the browser rather than to the file, so we are not creating a derivative work.
The practical consequence is that our district pages show places rather than bedrooms. We would rather show you the actual geography of a district, which is what our guides are about, than a suite photographed with a wide lens.

Sorted by the page each image appears on. Licence links go to the full deed; source links go to the original file page, where the photographer’s own terms and any further conditions are recorded.

If we have
got a credit wrong.
If you are the photographer or rights holder of an image on this site and the credit is wrong, incomplete, or you believe the image should not be here, tell us and we will correct or remove it. We treat that as a correction like any other: fixed quickly, and recorded rather than quietly changed.
